Gardening & Chickens

Little Fingers in the soil is a reuse, repurpose, recycle environmental program which includes weekly instruction in our classrooms and within our organic garden.  HH has chickens on campus to provide young learners with opportunities for animal care taking, composting, and sustainable food development.  Gathering eggs, feeding, watering, nurturing, and playing with our feathered friends are activities that we think are valuable and significant.  Alongside our garden, we think this offers students a sense of where their food comes from and how to work on sustainability issues that benefit our environment and our local community.
