About
School-Agers
We believe that while school-agers
are moving away from dependence on adults, they still need
positive guidance as friendships and peers are becoming
increasingly important to them. At Happy Hollow, our focus
is on helping young learners make the best choices for
themselves and the people within our learning community. We work
on communication skills, role playing and conflict resolution
skills every day.
We think students
need clear, concise and consistent rules within their
environment to help guide them towards good decision making,
constructive behavior and the application of conflict resolution
skills within their social relationships.
We think students
need to learn problem-solving techniques to help them develop
and utilize critical thinking skills.
We understand the
needs of school-agers and we have set up a very intentional
environment that meets these needs as well as promotes
exploration, creativity, critical thinking skills, respect for
diversity, problem solving skills and conflict resolution.
